U Of Akron Advertises For College Quarterback : NPR

U Of Akron Advertises For College Quarterback : NPR

ONe thing I've got to say about the players at U. of Akron: They have Heart! Not one to let adversity get the better of them, they continue to play to the limit each and every game. They may not have a winning record, but I can tell you they have won the hearts and minds of their fellow students, and of this former footballer. It takes guts to line up against 200-300 lbs of linebacker when you're healthy. For one of them to do it with a broken arm? Well he deserves the Heisman for that game alone.

Vaccinations for the First Family | The White House

Vaccinations for the First Family | The White House

What this page says about the Obama White house is that they are no better than every other person in America. They stand and wait their turn with the rest of us. I'm sure they have the same concerns as every parent in wanting to protect their children from disease in any way possible. If they had wanted, I'm sure they would have been vaccinated weeks ago. But they believe it is not right to jump ahead in line, and possibly deny the vaccine to one person who might just die without it.

People may not agree with everything the Obama Administration does, but they are deliberately rebuilding the trust in the Presidency that most Americans, and the world, had lost.

Thank you, Mr. President.

the Original Lucky is back on GH

Lucky's back ... Jonathan Jackson's terrific return to General Hospital - TV Squad

OK, people are going to turn me off if I keep posting about TV, and specifically about GENERAL HOSPITAL. Not that the show doesn't have followers. not that I don't have other interests. It's just one of those strange places where I have two GH posts in two days.

Side note: my daughter, who is four, learned to spell her first word besides her name: T-W-O Spells Two! Two! Two!

I've never seen the "original" Lucky Spencer, but my wife has informed me that Johnathan Jackson is MUCH better as Lucky than Greg Vaughn. I dunno. i suppose I'll catch his performances as the wifee watches them. We'll see.

Ron White picked to play "drunken Yoda" for Comedy Central cartoon - TV Squad

OK, I can't help but regurgitate TV Squad on this one. They have an absolutely on-the-spot take on this newest gem from Comedy Central Just go read it and you too will LYAO.

Mal's back!

OK, Cathy, here ya go!

I've heard So Many good things about CASTLE, and it's lead, Nathan Fillion. I first noticed him on the great TV show, DRIVE, that premiered in 2007. FOX Hyped the hell out of it, then killed it with blunt force trauma after 6 episodes, just when it was getting good. I'll never forgive them for that, and keeping crap like SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Seriously. Does anybody really watch those dance shows?

Yesterday, a co-worker was regaling me with a description of Nathan Fillion donning the duster again. I've seen the first few minutes of SERENITY, and have all the episodes of FIREFLY. It's just a hard thing, finding time for all of the good TV shows out there to watch. So ones that were killed before they were supposed to go usually wind up on the back burner, and TV shows that keep going (SVU, Sons of Anarchy, etc.) get watched first so that I don't fall further behind.

Now this has seriously got me jonesing for some FIREFLY. Maybe this weekend? Nope. Going out of town for Halloween. Sorry, kids, but you can come for candy next year.

Fringe casts General Hospital villain Sebastian Roche - TV Squad

Fringe casts General Hospital villain Sebastian Roche - TV Squad

This one is for my wife...

She loves her GENERAL HOSPITAL, and when Rick Springfield made his return a couple of years ago, she got me to watching it to. That's the only reason I know Jasper Jacks, played by Ingo Rademacher, or his brother, Jerry Jacks, played by Sebastian Roche.

I was introduced to Roche when he starred in the short-lived ODYSSEY 5, as the playboy scientist, Kurt Mendel. He played a good guy on this, so I've always wondered if he was good or evil on GH. Since my introduction to him was when he robbed the MetroCourt (did I spell it right?), I'm not sure if he was bad. There's so many twists and turns in Soap Operas the reasons someone may do something bad may be for the right reason.

I look forward to catching up on Fringe if for no other reason than to see what Sebastian and his character are up to. Is he good or bad?

And here's a tidbit for all you Luke-and-Laura fans out there. Love you, Honey!

NPR continues their custom of providing interesting tidbits that might not make it on the mainstream news, but still may be important or at the very least interesting to the majority of America.

Melissa Gray sees more than just a cake being made. She sees a response in people that goes beyond the taste or the texture. It goes to their childhood and how they were raised as kids.
